The Sports Docket, casually referred to as “Docket”, made its debut on the NY Sports Scene on Thursday, May 17, 2007 @ 6 p.m. with Ethan Kwassman doing a solo 30-minute episode. There is a debate over which show was their debut. On Saturday night, May 19, 2007 @ 10:30 p.m., they did a show on the Subway Series. On Monday, May 28, 2007 @ 8:00 p.m. (at a time when people can actually tune in) Steven Ackerman & Ethan Kwassman with the nicknames Aceman & the Kwass, made their official debut. Their first one-hour show came on May 30th. Since then, Aceman & the Kwass have broadcasted over 20 weekly one-hour episodes on Thursday or Sunday nights at BlogTalkRadio. Due to the busy schedules of the hosts, every Thursday or Sunday night is not a guarantee. Thus, sometimes they do spot shows on other days of the week.

With Aceman calling into the shows from Lynbrook, and Kwass monitoring the switchboard and commercial breaks from his hometown in Brooklyn, NY; there is no better duo to run a show than this crew from Lynbrooklyn. Ethan and Steven occasionally debate over their rival teams such as Steve’s with the Jets and Rangers, and Kwass with the NY Football Giants, and Devils. However, they both agree on the fact that the Mets collapse in September 2007 was overwhelmingly heartbreaking, and that there is no hope for the NY Knicks.

The Docket features a great segment such as “ArmChairGM Rapid Fire”, as a panel of users from the popular sports website get 45 seconds to give their take on a topic that the hosts throw at them, or else get to feel the wrath of the buzzer sound. Another big segment is “Aceman & the Kwass NFL Picks”, which features Aceman & the Kwass making their NFL Picks for 5 games each week. What makes the Docket revolutionary is that they take live calls and IMs during the show, so the audience can become a big part of the action.

The Docket has averaged 18 live listeners per show, in addition to 75 archive listeners per show. A big part of those numbers is due to the great caliber of guests that have appeared on Docket. In the past; Matt Cerrone of MetsBlog.com, Mark Hale; Mets reporter for The New York Post, Brian Bassett of TheJetsBlog.com, Matt Watson of DetroitBadBoys.com, Oly Sandor of HoopsVibe.com, Shari Forst of MVN.com, Joe Janish of FlushingUniversity.com, and countless others have come on to share their insight with the hosts and fans of Docket.
